Music Pick: Through Your Eyes From Britt Nicole

I’m loving the single “Through Your Eyes” From Britt Nicole and so happy that she is releasing new music. The message of the song strikes a chord – how often we pressure ourselves to be something that God never called us to be and how His grace and love sets us free to be His…

Through Your Eyes Lyrics
Get it together
That’s what I say to me
I put on the pressure
You could do better
Be who you’re supposed to be

[Verse 2]
But that’s when you came in
Right when I needed you
Said all of the things that I was believing
Not one of them were true…

[Pre-Chorus]
You’re lifting my head up
I was keeping my head down
I didn’t know love
But I do now

[Chorus]
Cause you stood right there
And then you broke apart the lies
You told me I had something beautiful inside
You brought to life the part of me I thought had died
Cause you stood right there
Until I saw me, I saw me through your eyes
I saw me, I saw me through your eyes
I saw me, I saw me through your eyes

God Can Do More Than You Can Dream (Ephesians 3:20) Editor’s Journal and Inspiration

No matter what your world looks like with Love there is beauty and anything is possible. We have the power to be the change, to fly high, way beyond our dreams – just take a leap and believe

“…[He] will live in you as you open the door and invite him in. And I ask him that with both feet planted firmly on love, you’ll be able to take in…the extravagant dimensions of Christ’s love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights… Live full lives, full in the fullness of God. God can do anything, you know – far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.” Ephesians 3 MSG

From my design series at dreaminsoul.com – Julene Fleurmond, editor of Dream in Soul Magazine…Keep dreaming!

Check out one of the dreams I’ve been pursuing at my blog, creating inspirational music with a greater purpose…

Above is an animation showing a snippet of lyrics for my song “Arise and Shine (Dare Dreamer)” and a little venturing into stop-motion (I love trying new things) The lyrics in the clip above say:

“Arise and Shine, Dare Dreamer can’t you see you’re full of purpose and possibility! So arise and shine O Sleeper, don’t give up now dare, Dreamer, arise and shine Dear Dreamer come alive!” That’s my message to YOU today and everyday!

A while back I shared how I have been pursuing my dream of inspiring others through music. It’s weird but I’ve been realizing that one of the reasons why I’ve been avoiding doing music is because I’ve been feeling so unconnected with so much of the music in the world and felt like I had to follow the way things have been done. I was like I’m not even as passionate about singing as I am about other things and as much as music artists are, I don’t feel like a “singer,” I’m a speaker/writer/visual artist why do You want me to do this??? Then He told me though multiple ways and people, why can’t you be both, I made you that way…why can’t we merge our passions into something that hasn’t been seen before?

youremadehellopurposeIt came to the point where I couldn’t even listen to music or enjoy it much, like I always felt like something was off for me. Not because other music is bad music but because when God wants you to step out into the unknown to create something new He makes you restless and annoyed until you do it, lol…so don’t avoid your purpose. You won’t feel fully alive until you fully embrace your calling.

Dreamers often get frustrated because what God asks them to do doesn’t make “sense”, as they are made to do something new and get tired of the status quo – usually because they are meant to shake things up to change the world – misfits are lit yo… we weren’t made to be “normal.” We color outside the lines to pioneer a new path that no one has seen…

juleneyounowtwitterscreenPeople like Walt Disney and Oprah Winfrey inspire me (I might have been their wild child) because they paved new paths, defined their own success and innovated unique dreams that did not exist before and didn’t wait for anyone’s validation. That’s my dream – to meld my passions into something new that may not “fit in” but expresses that part of God’s heart I’m created to be. For the longest time I felt pressured to do what others expected me to or to fit a mold so others can like me but that’s no way to live!

I don’t want this to be about me – stars don’t shine alone in the dark sky. My dream is not celebrity but community – to ignite a movement to unite singers and artists who have a heart for creating art with a greater mission and together we support one another, collaborate and change the world. Sound like you? Send me a line!

<3 Why do so many great artists fall and why do so many artists struggle - maybe because we were never made to carry glory alone or to be worshipped but to unite to draw people to the greatest Artist of all...

Alex G on Overcoming Anxiety and Music with James David and Danielle Bennett

Life can get stressful especially in the world we live in and maybe you can relate to Alex G’s story of how she’s learning to overcome anxiety – I definitely could relate to the frustration, feelings and am inspired by her vulnerability…

“I have had bad anxiety since I was 10 years old. For those of you struggling with it, I understand now that it can be really serious and damaging. Be compassionate towards each other. You have no idea how much it can help those with emotional needs!

“This is my story. I hope that it encourages others who struggle with mental disorders to start the process of stepping away from their shame and fear. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!” – Alex G

Be sure to check out Alex’s amazing music – here are some of my favorites: her passionate cover of “I Was Made For Loving You” with James David (DAVIE) (the original is by Tori Kelly and Ed Sheeran) and her original song Lighthouse with spoken word by Danielle Bennett – so beautiful, heart-moving and relevant to what so many people are feeling in the world today. All of these young artists are inspiring ones to follow, be sure to check out their sites below!

Worship: Spirit Move Kalley Heiligenthal and Bethel Music

This song moves me every time I listen and worship to it – the words so stirring in the season that we’re in.

You can get this song on Bethel’s new album, “Have It All” on iTunes.

“Spirit Move” Lyrics

I feel it in my bones, You’re about to move
I feel it in the wind, You’re about to ride in
You said that You would pour Your spirit out
You said that You would fall on sons and daughters

So like the rain, come and drench us in love
Let Your glory rush in like a flood

We are fixed on this one thing
To know Your goodness and see Your glory
We’re transformed by this one thing
To know Your presence and see Your beauty

I can see it now, Your kingdom come
I can hear it now, the sounds of heaven
You said that if we ask, we’ll receive
We are asking for the greater measure…

Life is short – do not waste it! What are we going to say when we look back on our lives? We’ll never regret loving people and serving people. We’ve shared Becca’s videos before (check out her Youtube channel for more), check out the latest she has to share on how important it is for us to live a life of purpose and service…

Note From Becca:

Hi beautiful people! :)

This song will definitely encourage you when it comes to this topic: Live it Well by Switchfoot:

The book I mention is called the Good News About Injustice. It’s opened my eyes so much to the injustices that go on around the world. This topic is SO important to me! We need to wake up every single day with the mindset that TODAY could be our last day. What would you change if you knew tomorrow was your last day on earth? It would affect EVERYTHING you do! How does knowing any day could be our last affect the way you treat others, the way you speak, the things you do? These are super important questions to ask! Encourage, LOVE, and serve other people because that is what we are here for!

I’ve been jammin to the song “I Know” from Group 1 Crew from the album “Power” that is out on July 29. It’s a great reminder that in whatever happens in life we don’t have to worry because God’s got it under control.

I also love this message from Manwell, on how important it is to trust the timing of God and the preparation process He has us going through in order to live out our purpose – embrace the process and don’t rush your blessing. Thanks for the realness and encouragement!

Inspiration: Trust in You and Lauren Daigle on How to Overcome Fear

Below Lauren Daigle explains the meaning behind “Trust in You” and shares inspiration on how she’s learned to overcome fear. I love her honesty & could could so relate to the story she tells about getting clarity about our calling which we sometimes may chase after rather than loving and pursuing God Himself…

laurendaiglephoto

“There’s a continuing theme on this record—trust,” says Daigle. “My heart’s cry is that people feel empowered as a body of Christ. It’s just heavy on my heart for all of us to rise up in unity and recognize the goodness of God. My hope is that people are empowered by knowing who they belong to, knowing that they are the son or daughter of God, and in response to that being able to worship fully, worship with complete abandon.” – Lauren Daigle

Lauren penned “Trust in You” with Mabury and Michael Farren. “‘Trust In You’ came from a series of transitions in my life,” she explains. “My grandfather had just passed away and he and I were super close. When I lived in Baton Rouge and went to LSU, I lived with him. He was so much fun and one of the most influential men in my life. He was the first person really close to me that I had lost. I was telling Michael Farren about it and he told me about a book he was reading by a man who once worked for Mother Teresa.

Upon arriving, she said, ‘Is there anything I can do for you? And he said, ‘Yes, you can pray for me. You can pray that I have clarity.’ And she said, ‘No, I am not going to pray that you have clarity because clarity is the last thing that’s holding you back.’ He said, ‘Mother Teresa what are you talking about? You have had clarity your whole life.’ She said, ‘No, I’ve never had clarity. I’ve only had trust.’ When I heard that, I knew it was not about seeing the big picture. It’s about trusting that the Lord is going to be there for you.”

Editor’s Vlog & Inspiration: Dream Deeper, Your Purpose and Love Can Change Lives and My Experience at Christ for the Nations

Dream deeper than how the world tells us to dream – your purpose could make someone’s day brighter just by you showing that you see them and care!✌❤️ Above is a snippet of my story that I shared on Periscope (@dreamfleur) of how my life has changed once I found true love. I spent the past few months at Christ for the Nations (I highly recommend that place for anyone who has a dream of changing the world and wants to connect with God in a deeper way to get more direction). One of the biggest lessons is that sometimes God wants us to step out of our comfort zone to reach out to the people around us that we don’t know, to show them love and maybe pray for them if we feel led to.

Our dreams can have a platform that reaches so many people but at times God wants us to get out of our comfort zone to talk to one person and see how they’re doing, and to share His love with them – it could make all the difference in their world!

Dream BIG and dare to dream deeper, seeing people like God sees them, with live, reaching out to the lonely and the overlooked. It fills you up with so much joy to know you made a difference on someone’s life and in turn you change the world!

Smile to brighten someone's day! Dream a dream bigger than you, like Dr. King did, and together we can light up the word! God put big dreams in your heart beyond what the world calls success because His biggest Dream is to see all of His kids come back to Him so we all can play and party together some day! ✌️ Sometimes I think certain people and situations are in our lives to show us how He can empower us to love radically like Jesus did – the kind of love that don't make sense to most – that's unconditional, not condemning even if we feel hurt (remember our real enemy is invisible and loves to distract us with silly offenses) and is not about our feelings or self interests…the kind of love that the world will scratch it's head at like huh??

Below is one of the devotions I wrote for CFNI on this topic of being love to people to change the world:

“…Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.” Mark 9:36

Our culture often looks to crowds and numbers as a measure of influence, especially in our social media-driven world. Even in ministry we could get distracted by being overly focused on status and boosting our numbers.

Jesus did teach crowds and feed multitudes but He also did significant ministry work on the personal level. There was the moment He looked tenderly into the face of the woman at the well and several times when He stopped to heal determined individuals who were in need.

Loving others is our call, but how often do we leave our comfort zones and the church building to love people one-on-one? Are we too distracted striving to be great to notice individuals God has placed in our path for a greater purpose? When we cultivate relationships with others and genuinely show compassion they’ll tangibly experience God’s love.

Let’s ask God to give us eyes to see those who feel invisible and forgotten, the downcast and weary. We can heal the broken-hearted and set captives free through love and service – if we dare to get uncomfortable and personal. -Julene Fleurmond #cfnidevotionals #relationships Find more inspiration and nourishment for your spirit on my blog http://dreamfleur.com.

Below is a video promo for Christ for the Nations that some of my friends are featured in and produced. CFNI is really an inspiring place – whatever your dream is it might be a place to learn to dream DEEPER with a greater mission:
