Maverick City Music recently released this song Breathe featuring Jonathan McReynolds, Doe Jones, Pat Barrett and Chandler Moore. The song speaks so powerfully to where we are in the world today. They wrote:
This past week we invited writers, friends, and family,
new and old, to join us for a special writing camp honoring the rich
history of gospel music. In a year of such unrest, we
contemplated and meditated on the power of our breath. The miracle that
is our breath. His breath which gives life and created all of which we
see. His breath in us is more powerful than our shouts. While there is still work to be done, we are taking this time to breathe because its a miracle we can breathe.

KB’s song “Armies” is so relevant for the times we live in now – it’s like battle cry of our faith declaring that we will now cower to darkness or troubles that surround us. Check out the lyric video above, click here to get the song and stay tuned for his upcoming project.
Armies Lyrics
Dangers
Silence
Battle is my story
But Alone
I won’t know
Yeah
Yeah
That’s my glory
Shadows you will not hide me
I know my King will fight
The God of Angel armies
Is always by my side

When we see changes happen in the world and we’re at home during the Corona Virus / Covid19 quarantine it’s a perfect time for us to be love, to walk in faith, to reach out to one another by maybe helping a neighbor in need (after you’ve washed your hands of course) & to have empathy & God’s outlook. Hint: God’s perspective doesn’t look like what the news or social media shows you.
When you have a relationship with God you can have a stability when the world shakes & know who is sovereign no matter what happens & God can give you prophetic insight about the times & seasons. He asks us to love one another & to pray because prayer tears down what darkness tries to use to harm and cripple people with fear and dis-ease. Pray for an end to the virus & any other issues going on that He puts on your heart, pray for leaders to have heavenly solutions. Pray to have perfect peace in the storm because God offers that to us so that fear doesn’t grip us.
It’s important to be prepared especially in the season we live & to take precaution with wisdom (like social distancing to care for your neighbor who may have a compromised immune system) but don’t let despair get you down. Fear causes people to panic & act in ways that that are not God’s intention. Faith allows you to see above the storm & even see how God is working for good within circumstances that the enemy intended for evil.
Connect with your family & with God during the time you may have at home (the school I work at is closed for now so I’m praying for all of those parents and teachers & for people everywhere whose jobs are on hold or have been lost).
Revival starts individually & I truly believe revival starts w/ family – & when the body of Christ realizes that they’re a family meant to work together to walk with authority like Jesus & tear down darkness. Our faith is tested- do we believe what God said in His Word or will we look to the world for answers when God wants to give us answers? Take dominion by walking in your purpose while you’re taking time to rest & reconnect with your loved ones. We’re in this together family.

Purpose Over Pleasure from Jonathan Traylor is the perfect theme song for you to embrace as you’re living out your calling and growing closer to God. I first heard the song when Jonathan led worship at Christ for the Nations a few years back and loved the message – that we don’t have time for shenanigans because we’ve got to get serious with living for God and eternity – plus the song is just real catchy and dance-able. Click here to download the song from the album Stones and Giants on iTunes or other platforms.
