Royal Tailor’s New “Make A Move” and “Hold Me Together” Music Videos
Royal Tailor recently released the music video for their song “Make A Move.” It’s so funky and creative with a great message, check it out below:
We don’t need permission
To go outside of these doors
And dream some crazy dream no one else has dreamed before
To show love and compassion
Wherever we may be, to put faith into action, do more than just believe
We are hope to those who have been broken
We were made to make a differenceThere’s more to life / Open my eyes
Someone is needing You / So I gotta make a move
What good are words / When this world hurts
Real faith will come through / When I make a move
- Lyrics from “Make a Move”
Royal Tailor’s single “Hold Me Together,” from the upcoming album, Black & White, is a soothing reminder of how we should rely on God’s strength in life. Editor’s Journal: Where Am I Called? – Post Grad Ponderings
It’s a question many of us ask at one point in our lives: What is my calling? Where does God want to use me right now; in ministry, in a certain career? For me the question was most urgent after I graduated from college (which I wrote about earlier on Dream in Soul). It was the typical post graduation anxiety – “uh oh – I’ve got be an adult and face the ‘real world’? What do I do now?”
I was confused as to where God was leading me, if I should pursue studying in a certain area of ministry (in my case I felt it might be youth ministry) and I searched my heart and prayed to God to show me which direction He wanted me to go. After a campus ministry conference a few months after graduation I asked one of the leaders Pastor Sample, a youth pastor at a local, what his advice was to someone who felt they might be called into youth ministry. His answer and how he broke it all down was a blessing to me, especially how he explained how you have to hear clearly from God where He is specifically leading you. I thought his advice was fitting for anyone who was questioning the path of their calling so I wanted to share:
Question: How Do I Know if I Am Called To A Certain Ministry?
A: Special training for ministry is great and so is Bible college or a ministry school…but the main thing is that you really hear from the LORD.
He will call you (it sounds like He is) He will give you specific instructions. Do not run out ahead of Him and do not be behind Him. Go at the pace He wants you to go.
You do not need a special degree or anything…you need a confirmed word of the LORD. He never calls the qualified, He only qualifies the called.
When the Lord calls there are usually 5 steps:
1. Calling – divinely dissatisfied with what you are doing – you know you are being called to a specific direction.
2. Training – this is usually done by man…ie..bible school, training school…

Mandisa Sings An Acoustic Version of “Stronger” from Her New Album What If We Were Real
When the waves are taking you under
Hold on just a little bit longer
He knows that this is gonna make you stronger, stronger
The pain ain’t gonna last forever
And things can only get better
Believe me
This is gonna make you stronger
– From Mandisa’s song “Stronger”
In this video Mandisa sings an acoustic version of “Stronger,” the first single off of her new album What If We Were Real; I love the encouraging message:
Below Mandisa explains the meaning of the song “What If We Were Real,” the title track from her new album:
More about Mandisa’s album What If We Were Real
Often an artist’s strengths inspire their best work. But for acclaimed contemporary Christian singer Mandisa, it’s her very human flaws and frailties that gave birth to her stellar third album, What If We Were Real. The two-time GRAMMY ® nominee knows that nobody is perfect—and she wants her fans to realize that, too. Her new career-defining project, released on Sparrow Records, reminds us all that everyone struggles. The concept of the album—which follows 2007’s exploration of inner grace, True Beauty, and 2009’s look at personal emancipation, Freedom—came to Mandisa as she bared her soul to her more than 20,000 followers on Twitter (@mandisaofficial).
“A lot of people think we as Christians have to put our masks on and pretend that everything is great. But I was really amazed at the responses I’d get when I’d Tweet that I was struggling, or needed prayer with something, or having a bad day,” she explains. “People said, ‘I’m glad to know I’m not the only one.’ Or ‘I need prayer for that too.’ It surprised me that people thought I had it all together. The truth of the matter is I have bad days too and am still learning to bring that to the Lord and let Him lift my burden.”

Rebecca St. James On Worship, Marriage and Her Album I Will Praise You
Rebecca St. James recently released her latest worship album I Will Praise You, and below she talks about the message behind the title. It’s awesome to see new music from her after five years since her last project.
Congratulations to Rebecca who also recently got married! One of her mentors who attended the wedding said (via www.rsjames.com) that Rebecca’s brother Joel “cooked up a ‘spoof’ on the ‘Wait for Me’ song that [Rebecca] wrote for her future husband years ago, and delivered it at the reception.” Her mentor continues, “Suffice it to say, it was a humorous and fun element in what was a sacred and deeply moving day.” Click here to read more about the wedding, and check out her original “Wait for Me” video below:

Rebecca on Waiting and Marriage from an Interview
Q: You’ve long been known as the face of practicing purity, the girl who sang “Wait for Me.” How will that role change as a married woman?
Rebecca: I’ll obviously still sing “Wait for Me,” because it’s one of my more known songs. But now I’ll be able to tell the end of the story; getting married is the fulfillment of that purity message. And for that message to have its true power, this wedding had to happen in God’s timing, not mine. A friend spoke that into my life years ago: “You will get married, because it’s the ending to that story and the beginning of a new one.” So I feel the incredible significance of this season in my life. On a ministry level, there’s just so much more power for the Holy Spirit to move through that message because of our marriage. We’ve talked about this in our premarital counseling.
In this pre-wedding interview Rebecca talks about how she met her husband Jacob and how she knew he was the one for her:

Dreaming On In Life & Faith: Interview With Jenna Lucado Bishop On The Revolve Tour & Serving Where You Are
With realness and encouragement Jenna Lucado Bishop shares her heart with young women around the country, relating to their everyday questions and delving into the truth of God’s word with them. Whether speaking on stage at The Revolve Tour, a faith and fun-filled weekend for teen girls, or co-authoring books with her father, best-selling author and speaker Max Lucado, Jenna’s passion for God is apparent and inspiring, and her energy and the warmth of her personality are inviting. In this interview Jenna shares how she was led to get involved with The Revolve Tour and gives advice for dreaming on in God and serving Him right where we are, even in uncertain times:
Interview by SOAR’s Editor Julene Fleurmond (A special thank you to the Revolve Tour staff for the interview!)
SOAR: I wanted to start off by asking what led you to be involved with The Revolve Tour and having a heart especially for teen girls?
Jenna Lucado Bishop: My heart for teen girls can be traced back to college. I joined a little singing group that would travel to various girl’s events to lead worship. It was at these all-girl weekends that I realized I loved talking to, encouraging, and offering advice to teenage girls. I wasn’t much older than them, but I had just enough wisdom to offer since high school was finally in hindsight:) I knew that one day, I wanted to work with teen girls full-time. I just didn’t know what that would look like. And it DEFINITELY would not look like me speaking from a stage! Seriously. I never wanted to be a speaker.
Well fast-forward four years, and I hear about this new conference called Revolve. Revolve comes from a “mama” tour called Women of Faith. I knew Women of Faith through my dad, and they told me all about this new conference for girls that they were starting. I casually mentioned that I would love to serve at something like that. I was envisioning helping behind stage or on the concourse, selling product or joining the marketing team. I never knew Mary Graham (president of Women of Faith) would sit down with me a year later and ask me if I wanted to try teaching on stage.
SOAR: When and how did you realize that God was calling you to be a speaker and writer, (did your father’s work have a big influence)?

The Courage to Overcome: The Movie Soul Surfer Shares the Story of Bethany Hamilton
“It was what God had taught me growing up that helped me overcome my fear and get back on the board. ‘Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go’ (Joshua 1:9).” – Bethany Hamilton
How would you face extreme and life-changing circumstances in your life? Here’s the journey of a young woman who shows us how to be courageous even when it seems the world is crashing down around us…
The movie Soul Surfer, premiering in theaters April 8th, tells the inspiring true story of Bethany Hamilton who lost her left arm in a shark attack at 13 years old but overcame the tumult and went on to become one of the most amazing surfers in the world:
Bethany has become a source of inspiration to millions through her story of determination, faith and hope. Born into a family of surfers on February 8, 1990, Bethany jumped on the board at a young age. Bethany entered her first surf competition—winning both the short and long board divisions at age eight.
On Halloween morning 2003, Bethany was attacked by a 14-foot tiger shark, which bit off her left arm and seemed to end her career as a rising surf star. After losing more than 60% of her blood and undergoing several surgeries, Bethany began her recovery with an unbelievably positive attitude. Miraculously, just one month after the attack, Bethany returned to the water. Two months later, Bethany placed fifth in the Open Women’s division surf competition and just over a year after the attack she won her first National Title. In 2007, Bethany realized her dream and turned pro. Bethany has since participated in numerous Association of Surfing Professionals and World Tour Events with her major highlight being a second place finish in the ASP 2009 World Junior Championships. “It has been an incredible journey for me and now, I’m just so excited to share it!” says Bethany.
“Bethany’s story is so powerful,” says Soul Surfer Director Sean McNamara. “Most people would have given up after what happened to her, but not only did she make an amazing return to surfing, she excelled at it, and has turned her life into an inspiration for people all around the world. She is someone you look at and think, ‘If she can do all the incredible things she’s done, I can set the world on fire, too.'” says Sean.
The movie stars AnnaSophia Robb as Bethany Hamilton, Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt as Bethany’s parents and singer Carrie Underwood, in her feature film debut, as a church youth leader. Visit the Soul Surfer movie site to find out more on how you or your youth group can see this powerful movie! You can also visit Bethany’s Official Website: www.bethanyhamilton.com
