The Plain Jane Project – JCTV Interview with Rowena Rodriguez on Dating, Courtship and Purity

The Plain Jane Project is a great ministry and movement encouraging purity and confidence in Christ. Rowena Rodriguez, the founder, shares her story of a period where she felt God was calling her not to date and to pursue holiness. During that time she felt called to minister the message of purity to other young Christian singles. Watch this interview on dating and “the significance of being ‘equally yoked…’”

Lecrae's New Video

Lecrae’s New Video “Just Like You” and the “Man Up” Campaign

Lecrae and Reach Records are encouraging young men to answer the call to biblical manhood through the Man Up campaign. Lecrae’s latest video for his song “Just Like You” from his album Rehab is so raw and powerful, and touches on the role models young men sometimes seek to imitate instead of seeking to model God’s image of manhood..

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Peter 2:9

Inspiration from Marshawn Evans (Entrepreneur, Author, Attorney & Former Apprentice Contestant) On Life & Business

One of my inspirations in life and business is Marshawn Evans, who you may remember from a past season of Donald Trump’s The Apprentice. Marshawn is a “Reinvention Strategist”, sports & entertainment lawyer, speaker and author who is devoted to helping others succeed, brand their businesses effectively and reach their full potential. She’s the founder of ME Unlimited, a consulting firm focusing on “reinvention, women’s empowerment, diversity, leadership and peak performance strategies.”

Marshawn is so open with helpful information and encouragement for entrepreneurs, especially for women who want to take their business to the next level. I love how she infused her faith into the past tele-seminars on focus and purpose that I have been able to take part in. Previously on Dream in Soul I posted about an interview she did on women in business and how they can better balance their roles in life (click here for that post). For information on Marshawn’s books, business coaching and mentoring programs, business branding events and faith-filled tele-seminars visit http://marshawnevans.com and be inspired by her business and ministry.

Here’s a recent video where Marshawn speaks on “How to Build Your Life God’s Way”:

Marshawn Evans shares three ways to develop more trust in God and His plans for your life, your business and your dreams:

Morning Worship: The Anthem – Planetshakers

From the Planet Shakers album All for Love, I love singing this song at my church and how words so few can have so much power:

Hallelujah
You have won the victory
Hallelujah
You have won it all for me…

Death could not hold you down
You are the risen king
Seated in majesty
You are the risen King!

Music Pick: Dara Maclean’s “Suitcases” and the Story Behind the Song

The soulfulness and message of the song “Suitcases” from Dara Maclean’s album You Got My Attention are definitely soothing and relatable. You can download the song on iTunes by clicking here.

How can you move when they’re weighing you down
What can you do when you’re tied to the ground, yeah
You carry your burdens, heavy like gravity
Just let them go now, there’s freedom in release

You can’t run when you’re holding suitcases
It’s a new day throw away your mistakes and open up your heart
Lay down your guard, you don’t have to be afraid
– Lyrics from Suitcases

Soul Dreamer Resource: Creative Collective Meet-Ups and Free Creative Matters E-Book

Being a writer/designer, I always love finding new resources for creatives (or basically anyone who wants to harness their creativity- because we are all like our Father the Creator in our own way) especially when other believers collaborate to encourage and inspire one another. The Creative Collective is a movement that inspires people to “Create like they were Created” and connects believers in a variety of fields though meet-ups and other resources like e-books, videos, their blog and social media.

To give you a look at how relatable the collective is, here’s a video of one of the Creative Collective meet-ups in Phoenix last month where Designer/Photographer Promise Tangeman joins Blogger/Worship & Arts Leader Carlos Whittaker along with Jarrett Stevens of Soul City Church in a talk about the creative process, how they began and progressed in their respective artistic fields and lots more:
