Love More, Fear Less: Perfect Love Casts Out Fear
“There is no fear in love but perfect love casts out fear…”
Love changes the way we see ourselves, others and the world around us – we see truth and light where others may see despair and darkness. We can move in courage and be at peace even when it seems like our world gives way and our expectations fall into the heart of the sea…
I’ve been learning in places that shake and stretch me that if I intentionally fix my eyes on God and truly live out a life of love with Him leading, fear has no power and doubt will fade. Live boldly every day in the fullness of love so rich and pure, so measureless and strong – you will always be fulfilled and will never miss out on the greatest of dreams, the destiny and One you were made for to love and be loved forever…

Inspiring Music Pick: BRAVE Moriah Peters Featuring Andy Mineo
“No one ever told me this would be easy, but I never knew that it could be this hard…Oh the worry the worry the worry is weighing on me. Could you help me break down, all these question marks, and make me BRAVE.” – Lyrics from Moriah Peters’ “Brave”
“Brave” ft. Andy Mineo is an encouraging song from Moriah Peters’ new album, BRAVE, available now in stores and online: http://bit.ly/MoriahBRAVE. Moriah shows us how she is being brave by facing new heights – literally:
Word: God Did Not Give Us a Spirit of Fear But of Love… 2 Timothy 1:7
6 Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
7 For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.
8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, 9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, 10 but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, 11 to which I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles. 12 For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.
At times God may ask us to step out when we feel we’re not ready and the spirit of fear bombards us with worry on every side. God speaks to us in a voice of peace, and it may not always make sense to us, but His is the voice of Truth – His truth stands forever.
Editor’s Journal: Grow Your Dream While Nurturing Another’s
Some say if you don’t build your dreams than you’ll be hired help, but building others’ Kingdom dreams is building God’s as well…
I’ve heard it said that when you don’t build your dreams, somebody else will hire you to build theirs. This may be true in ways, that when we’re lackadaisical about our purpose we can end up in unfulfilling jobs, but what’s so wrong with helping someone else build their dreams if it is for a greater purpose that will benefit the lives of others? Look at Joseph who was a slave for years and helped to bring clarity to others’ dreams before he saw his own come to reality. His position in the prison led him to the very place in the palace where he would save the lives of many…
One of my life mantras is that their is greatness in service and often before seeing our dreams come to fruition we may be called to help someone else’s vision. It’s important for us to have discernment on when it’s time for us to move on our own dreams, but faithfully serving in a greater mission can sow seeds of character, wisdom and relationships that make you richer than when you began.
Over the past year I’ve been a part of an amazing internship at my church where I was able to be a small part of something big in God’s Kingdom. The journey was difficult and and I sowed much time and energy, but I come out all the richer because of being able to build others’ dreams, going deeper in my pursuit of God and meeting some of the most amazing people that have forever changed my life.
Below meet some of those people and see a glimpse of our journey of finding purpose:
Are you in a place right now where you can sow your time and glean unlikely fruit even in places that seem like the prison?
Ask God to help you reflect on how He want you to grow and serve others in the season you are in while growing closer to Him and gaining greater clarity on your purpose. There is always something to reap in each season – even if it is the deepening of your knowledge and intimacy with God; that in itself is well worth anything you will endure. – Julene
Perspective: 1 person's prison can be another's purpose. To thrive, truly discern where you're called & share fruit even from the prison.
