Kirk Franklin Talks about Sunday Best and “The Lion’s Den”
Season 2 of Sunday Best premiered on BET on March 7th, and we got to see who was in and who was just plain turned down for the first round. Kirk Franklin recently posted a video blog about the first episode. He also talks about artist PJ Morton and gives a deep word about the Book of Daniel (preach preacha’!). Check it out below:
Soul Food Sound Bytes – Kirk talking about not speaking negatively of people who’ve done us wrong:
“Daniel said ‘Even when you put me in the lion’s den I didn’t sin against you’. How many people can say that the people that did us wrong we never said anything… So when we’re going through [the lion’s den] God is even watching how we respond to the people who were even part of us going through… if God is sovereign then all those people are, those people are just pawns… it couldn’t have happened unless God willed it to happen… God has allowed it for His glory.
“Daniel’s commitment now made Daniel’s God big in the land. Could it be that the reason why our God is not big in the land is because people are watching God’s people respond to the lion’s den…”
Whoa. Don’t just take his word for it, read it for yourself.
Mary Mary Video Shoot for “God in Me”
Mary Mary recently shot the video for the song “God in Me” which also features Kierra Sheard. You can view pictures from the shoot on their Myspace page, myspace.com/therealmarymary or by clicking here.
The picture above from their Myspace page of Erica, Kierra and Tina is really cute. "God in Me" is one of my favorite songs form the album, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the video! Mary Mary performed the song on 106 & Gospel when they appeared in January. Here’s a clip of that episode:
On that episode they also gave a behind the scenes look at the creation of their upcoming bath and beauty product line called Be You that debuts in 2009, and talked about their album The Sound. Check it out below:

Love Notes and the Father’s Love Letter
God’s Love Letter to Us and Inspiration From Kirk Franklin and CeCe Winans
"Love" by Kirk Franklin and CeCe Winans
I love the song above, and how it delves into the meaning of love, and how God loves us. What is love and how does God call us to love? Here are some notes from the Bible about what is more than just a four-letter word:
Let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13

God shows His love to us all throughout the Bible. The video below called The Father ‘s Love Letter shows us just how much God loves us. It is a love letter from God, created from verses in the Bible, and tells the truth of how much God loves us. I first saw it TBN a few years ago, and a while back when one of my professors had us read a spiritual piece we enjoyed to the class, I shared it with my classmates.
The video was narrated by Roy Lamont and written by Barry Adams. Visit author’s site Fathersloveletter.com for more information.
Prayer: Lord, I love you! Let me learn the true meaning of love and let me bask in Your presence and Love each day. Allow me to focus on You, so You can show me how I am to love others.
