Create From Rest: Inspiration for Artists and Entrepreneurs
Then God created coffee, gave it to Adam and said that it was good. đđžââď¸đâď¸ I hope today as you reflect on the divine and fellowship, eat and drink with others that you take time to savor love, reflect and rest. If this season taught us anything itâs to take a sacred pause and slow down to live more fully and connected to the Source. God gave us rhythms of life that Jesus exemplified for us to thrive and flourish and after He created the world even He rested.
What makes us think weâre exempt from rest if even God did it? Sometimes as artists and creators (and former workaholics who have been redeemed đđ˝ââď¸) we forget that the best and most impactful creation comes from resting in God. Itâs not just about taking a day of rest which renews and rejuvenates our bodies and minds but also a deep rest of our minds and spirit where weâre not striving and grinding desperately for success and acclaim but creating with care, discovery and diligence from a place of love, peace and security knowing who we are and that our power and success comes from a greater source.
Today as you grab your coffee or beverage of choice take some time to breathe in peace and rest knowing your art and creativity can have more beautiful impact than you ever imagined when you create with your Creator and let go of the pressure to perform and be affirmed by man. You are a creation full of purpose and beauty – rest in that truth.

Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Put My yoke upon your shouldersâit might appear heavy at first, but it is perfectly fitted to your curves. Learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble of heart. When you are yoked to Me, your weary souls will find rest. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30 (VOICE)
âAre you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and youâll recover your life. Iâll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with meâwatch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I wonât lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and youâll learn to live freely and lightly.â Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)
Editor’s Journal: Trust God At All Times and Song Inspiration
We can trust God at all times even in the world we live in today and in the storms of life because we know the One who holds the world has us in His hands when we put our hope in Him. Love is trustworthy always.
.
Here’s one of my favorite songs in Haitian Creole: Konfie’m Nan Dieu. The lyrics loosely translate to: Trust in the Lord, know that He takes care of me. In the wilderness or in bad times. The oceans may rise but God holds me firm, my Papa in Heaven will take care of me… .
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock. Isaiah 26:3-4 ESV

Iron Sharpens Iron: We Are Better Together In Community!
Community, love, relationships & family are some of the greatest gifts in life! My friend Sarah has a great series on her site WorkinProgressBlog.co on the power and many benefits of community. I was happy to share part of my story and passion in the series – go check it out!
God used a dry, long lonely time in my life to draw me into deeper intimacy with Him, discovering His heart and love for myself and for other people. The wilderness is where we develop a deep love for God and people if we allow it to! That deep ache of loneliness was filled by Godâs presence and my dependence on Him to satisfy my desires. I discovered how He longed for His people to get to know Him better and to hear His voice. He also desired for us to love one another and to see each other as missing pieces of the puzzle pieces of His heart – if one person was missing then the picture of His family and even of His image would be incomplete. I believe our unity as His body is one of Godâs biggest dreams! In our unity we will display His love and glory to the world.
Weâre relational beings and are made to be together, growing in unity and in Godâs heart. Family and fellowship was Godâs original design and intention for us ever since the Garden of Eden when He said it was not good for man to be alone. As Godâs people we can reflect His heart by gathering together and showing the world what true community is. Iâm so grateful for the family and purpose partners God has placed in my life. Iron sharpens iron and we are so much better together! â Even disagreements can shape us – diamonds shape diamonds when they collide and we can learn about the different facets of our enormous, beautiful indescribable God in eachother! Let’s grow in love and community – the more we interact the more we shape eachother and are refined to look more like Love!

Inspiration & Music Pick: From Haven’t Even Kissed to I’ll Wait For You Moriah Peters Sings Her Love Story
Moriah Peters shared inspiring footage from her wedding in the lyric video above for her beautiful song “I’ll Wait For You” from her album “BRAVE” featuring her husband Joel, one part of the singing duo For King and Country. Their journey is sweet and encouraging – how Moriah allowed God to write their love story and how the pair waited until their wedding day to have their first kiss, which she describes in the interview and her song, (one of my favorites from her previous CD!) “Haven’t Even Kissed” describes below. Moriah is also vulnerable and real about how the life as a music artist is more of a responsibility as it may seem:
