Create From Rest: Inspiration for Artists and Entrepreneurs
Then God created coffee, gave it to Adam and said that it was good. đđžââď¸đâď¸ I hope today as you reflect on the divine and fellowship, eat and drink with others that you take time to savor love, reflect and rest. If this season taught us anything itâs to take a sacred pause and slow down to live more fully and connected to the Source. God gave us rhythms of life that Jesus exemplified for us to thrive and flourish and after He created the world even He rested.
What makes us think weâre exempt from rest if even God did it? Sometimes as artists and creators (and former workaholics who have been redeemed đđ˝ââď¸) we forget that the best and most impactful creation comes from resting in God. Itâs not just about taking a day of rest which renews and rejuvenates our bodies and minds but also a deep rest of our minds and spirit where weâre not striving and grinding desperately for success and acclaim but creating with care, discovery and diligence from a place of love, peace and security knowing who we are and that our power and success comes from a greater source.
Today as you grab your coffee or beverage of choice take some time to breathe in peace and rest knowing your art and creativity can have more beautiful impact than you ever imagined when you create with your Creator and let go of the pressure to perform and be affirmed by man. You are a creation full of purpose and beauty – rest in that truth.

Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Put My yoke upon your shouldersâit might appear heavy at first, but it is perfectly fitted to your curves. Learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble of heart. When you are yoked to Me, your weary souls will find rest. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30 (VOICE)
âAre you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and youâll recover your life. Iâll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with meâwatch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I wonât lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and youâll learn to live freely and lightly.â Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)

What’s Your Passion Project? Live Your Dreams, Pioneer Your Path of Purpose and Reclaim Your Wonder Through Creative Exploration
Whatâs Your Passion Project? đđĽđ
Do you have something that you love to do just for the love of it – not necessarily for monetary gain?
A passion project may seem âoff-brandâ for you.
You may reason that itâs unpractical.
It might be a business, but it may not be. It may not have any monetary compensation immediately
We may think that others will be mad at us for doing something that is not âdisciplinedâ or what seems like a âwaste of time.â
I have a mentor who told me once that our creative passion projects are like intercession – they bring Heaven to Earth – they shift the atmosphere and this realm even if they are done in private.
In terms of business we should aim to create something that meets a need but I want to encourage you to also have a passion project – something you create that youâre passionate about that maybe doesnât make good business sense. Itâs like therapy in a way. I found myself only writing scripts that I thought would sell, or only creating what I thought people needed but often times your passion project is something that nurtures your own soul and helps your mental health and boosts your creativity. Itâs something you believe in.
You come alive and will inspire people when you create something you believe in – sometimes itâs to minister to God and grow your own spirit. Often times those passion projects can be jumping points to the lifeâs work that truly makes you a living, but even more so they help you come alive.
