youthofchrist

A few months back Dream in Soul interviewed Stephanie Rodnez, a young filmmaker who is using her passion for making movies to inspire other young people through her company Christ Effect Entertainment. Stephanie’s latest project is Youth of Christ, a fun feature length film about a lazy youth group’s struggle to host a youth revival at their church. The message of the movie is that no matter what age you are, you’re never too young to do big things for Jesus Christ. If you are in the South Florida area you are welcome to attend the screening which is open to the public with free admission, Friday, March 4th at 7:30pm in Fort Lauderdale. See below for more details.

More About Youth of Christ & The Upcoming Release Event

South Florida native Stephanie Rodnez is out to build a strong Christian film industry in South Florida, starting with the premiere of her first feature length film created for theatrical release, “Youth of Christ.” The event is taking place on Friday, March 4th, 7:30pm, at the First Baptist Church of Plantation, where she’s been a member since she was four years old.

Now 24, Rodnez is eager to see filmmakers and South Florida churches closely aligned. “Youth of Christ is a movie that inspires teenagers to get out of their pews and do something big for Jesus Christ, and we’re praying that once churches see this film, we’ll see a boom in young adult led ministries here in South Florida,” says Rodnez.

Lyrics

Our beloved Father | Please come down and meet us
We are waiting on Your touch | Open up the heavens
Shower down Your presence
We respond to Your great love

We won’t be satisfied with anything ordinary
We won’t be satisfied at all

Open up the sky | Fall down like rain
We don’t want blessings | We want you
Open up the sky | Fall down like fire
We don’t want anything but you

Inspiration: What Love Really Means – JJ Heller

jjhellerlovereallymeans“What Love Really Means” is a beautiful and moving song, from the album “When I’m With You” by JJ Heller. Watch the video and listen to the lyrics to hear her paint the meaning of love.

Lyrics
He cries in the corner where nobody sees
He’s the kid with the story no one would believe
He prays every night “Dear God won’t you please…
Could you send someone here who will love me?”

Who will love me for me
Not for what I have done or what I will become
Who will love me for me
‘Cause nobody has shown me what love
What love really means what love really means

Her office is shrinking a little each day
She’s the woman whose husband has run away
She’ll go to the gym after working today
Maybe if she was thinner then he would’ve stayed
And she says…

Morning Worship: You Won’t Relent – Jesus Culture & Soul Dreamer Inspiration on Worship Leading

“You Wont Relent”, written by Misty Edwards, here performed by Chris Quilala & Kim Walker-Smith of Jesus Culture, from the album Your Love Never Fails.

youloveneverfails

Lyrics
You won’t relent
Until You have it all
My heart is Yours

I’ll set You as a seal upon my heart
As a seal upon my arm
For there is love that is as strong as death
Jealousy demanding as the grave
And many waters cannot quench this love

Come be the fire inside of me
Come be the flame upon my heart
Come be the fire inside of me
Until You and I are one

Remembering Haiti: Be Still and Know…

bestillhaiti

Psalm 46
1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling…

10 “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” 11 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

A year ago on January 12th a devastating earthquake shook the land of the nation of Haiti. Even in the turmoil hope and faith sprang forth from the hearts of the people. Soon after the catastrophic event the news covered stories of the lost and surviving. One of the newscasts showed where a prayer celebration took place in the heart of Port Au Prince with people dancing and singing: “Depi Jezu chita sou trone lan, tout bagay deja bien,” which translates into English – “Because Jesus still sits on the throne, everything is okay.” This amazing faith is a testament that though the ground shakes hearts can remain firmly rooted in Christ. Though our worlds seem to give way we can be still and know that He is God.

The earthquake hit close to home for me as I have many family members who live in Haiti that were affected. I praise God for the hope He gives even in tumultuous times…

Let’s remember our brothers and sisters in Haiti, not only today but always, in our prayers and our minds. There is still much that needs to be done to help the people recover. Visit A Home in Haiti for information on how you can help build schools and orphanages in Haiti. Currently they are undertaking their first construction project – “the largest home and school for severely disabled orphans with cefrebral palsy, autism, and more in all of Haiti.”
