The SOAR Christmas Playlist will feature awesome songs to inspire you this Christmas Season from some of our favorite artists. Check back for more on our Christmas Playlist…

Born Tonight from Jamie Grace

“Born Tonight” is from the new EP “Family Christmas: Songs by Jamie Grace & Morgan Harper Nichols” which you can get here on iTunes. The album features two Christmas songs by Jamie Grace, two songs by Morgan and a song by Harper Still, the collective name for the two sisters who regularly write and perform together. I love the refreshing sounds that make for very unique and moving Christmas music.

Here’s another fun and heart-warming video from Jamie Grace’s Christmas EP, Christmas Together – it’ll get you smiling and in the Christmas spirit! I love how she got her family and friends together on her birthday to shoot the video, and the lyrics and feel of the song are cleverly melded and entertaining. You can get her Christmas EP on iTunes by clicking here!

Editor’s Journal and Inspiration: Truth and Love…It All Begins with Trust

Our hearts long for love, to be restored to the place where we were fulfilled without end. Trust is where it all began…

It was 2009 during a dry, lonely season in my life when I had an unexpected encounter that rocked my paradigm. During the experience I had a vivid vision of being in a white dress in what seemed to be a grand forest. My first inkling was, “Is this The Garden?”

There was a calmness, a brilliance, a presence of Love there. Like a little girl I was full of questions- “Father, why…?” I asked. He revealed his heart and love for people from the Beginning, in imagery and passion, an intimate experience I will never forget and could never have imagined on my own…

These words I remember my Father saying there were the most striking to my heart: “Do you trust me?”

Yes. I do. I will follow His way, always. Even when I don’t understand, I will choose Him. Forever… #IamMyBeloveds #HeisMine #trusttheAuthor #theLovestoryofalltime

God is calling you to go deeper into His Love! Your past may have been difficult but it doesn’t eclipse His everlasting Love or plans for your life…He’s been giving me visions of a garden and speaking and singing Song of Songs into my spirit – I believe its a true reflection of His heart for us – we are His Beloved and He is ours, forever and ever…

– Julene Fleurmond, Editor of SOAR

My Beloved speaks and says to me: “Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away…

For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. The fig tree ripens its figs, and the vines are in blossom; they give forth fragrance.

Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away.”

Song of Solomon 2:10-13

“The caged bird sings with a fearful trill of things unknown but longed for still and his tune is heard on the distant hill for the caged bird sings of freedom.” – Maya Angelou

Imagine being stuck in a constricting cage – then realizing that you have placed those bars of boundary around yourself. People pleasing & fear of man are two snares I have found release from in this season (sometimes in painful and uncomfortable ways) – but it’s amazing how much freedom there is in seeking to please One…

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10

My struggle with anxiety and insecurity started when I was a shy little girl caged in fear that grew as I did. Not knowing where my identity truly originates from I tried to place it anywhere or in anyone elses’ affirmation other than the one that matters most.

Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe. Proverbs 29:25(NIV)

Being bound to the opinions and expectations of others is like a disease that squeezes the life out of your heart and keeps you from being free – the real you that God created. …Rejection and isolation hurt but sometimes He uses just that to break the chains of anxiety and imprisonment that held you, and shakes the places where you placed your identity so you can have a firm foundation in Him.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)

Approval addiction may go undetected when we long to belong & be accepted, but the condition’s only cure is affirmation from the Creator of the Universe. There is no greater way of being known and loved then having true ‪‎validation from above‬. Look to Him to know who you truly are…

But now, this is what the Lord says—
He who created you, Jacob,
He who formed you, Israel:
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. Isaiah 43:1 (NIV)

Word: Do Not Lose Heart 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

However dark your situation may look, hold on to Hope and don’t lose heart…

“Therefore we do not become discouraged (utterly spiritless, exhausted, and wearied out through fear). Though our outer man is [progressively] decaying and wasting away, yet our inner self is being renewed day after day…

For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!]

Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting.”

2 Cor4:16-18 AMP

Everlasting Love Gave Us Everlasting Life

The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying, “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love: therefore with loving kindness have I drawn you.” Jeremiah 31:3

God’s everlasting Love has drawn us into everlasting life through the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ. So many of us miss out on the greater gift of discovering Him because we settle for the surface level of receiving from & knowing about Him…

When we delve deeper into God we find there is always so much more to be found in Him, all joy and peace and everything that is good. He bridged the gap so we can have eternal intimacy and true freedom with Him now and forevermore.

Let’s never forget the precious gift we have to seek God’s face and experience His supernatural presence, where He longs for us to be for eternity…

You Are So Loved

This Is Our Love Story…

Once upon a sacred union there was a woman who had perfect Love in the beginning- but she was deceived and let her eyes wander. She disregarded Love’s truth and faithfulness for a taste of the forbidden, and in a bite of weakness she became blinded, disillusioned…

Even in her infidelity her True Love kept pursuing her, continuing to draw her in to be reunited, not letting her be consumed by the darkness of her mistakes. Her Love calls to her out from hiding, gently beckoning her seek and be found. He gave up the most prized of all, and gave the greatest gift so that their relationship could be restored even deeper and more passionate than before…

Because you see, once upon a perfect place before there was time, there was Love. He gave His life for you and I so we would know what True Love is…ultimate sacrifice, never-ending faithfulness, laying down one’s desires and life for another. We can never be fulfilled or know True Love until we fully embrace Him.

“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him…And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them…”

“This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” 1 John 4 (Read more in context)

6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 11 To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Soul Dreamer Journey – Editor’s Diary: You’re Never Alone

No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Joshua 1:5

There are times in what we might call loneliness where people have drawn away from us, God is drawing us into deep fellowship and intimacy that few have experienced because they wouldn’t be still. Don’t run from seasons of silence and solitude but seek to hear His voice – He’s always there and waiting for you to draw closer to Him. Those are the times when you can get to know Him like never before and to discover your purpose in Him.

There was a span of time where I was experiencing deep alone-ness, after most of my friends had graduated and moved away. In the quietness of that time I first felt frustrated and lost, wondering why there seemed to be no I could relate to. After seeking God I found that it was in these times when we are not being bombarded by the noisiness of the world that God speaks, really speaks to us and draws us into our destiny…

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. Jeremiah 29:11-14

Prolonged total isolation is never a good idea, when you find there is no one in your close circle, find a way to serve others and reach out to someone who may also need a friend – we were made for fellowship and that’s where we grow and thrive. However, don’t be afraid to take time to get away from the bustle and distractions of life to embrace those times of fellowship with your Creator, He’s waiting to get your undivided attention…

And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28: 20
